WELCOME TO PIZO
PIZO Process Overview
PIZOŽ is the only commercially available, 100% reuse, one-step technology for the continuous manufacturing of products from the air pollution control dusts and other by-products of the steel industry. PIZOŽ can be utilized to process materials from both Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) and Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) steel mills. PIZOŽ technology is patent protected and significant enhancements have patents pending. PIZOŽ was developed by Heritage Environmental Services (Heritage), the largest privately held environmental services company in the United States.
PIZOŽ, an abbreviation for Pig Iron and Zinc Oxide, continuously manufactures three commercially saleable products, including: crude zinc oxide (CZO), pig iron and slag. The dusts and by-products that are 100% reused by PIZOŽ, have historically been processed for land disposal or partially recycled by the steel industry or offsite vendors.
PIZOŽ has also engineered recycling methods for other ferrous and zinc waste streams from basic manufacturing and assembly, foundry and forge operations, with the potential to keep thousands of tons of materials per year out of the landfill. Scrap waste ferrous and zinc materials that are not currently processed for remelt by steel mills can be used in the PIZOŽ process. As a result, PIZOŽ is able to certify that materials received are recycled for reuse. Swarf, shot blast, flash, slag, sweepings, turnings, bushlings and other waste are candidate material for our process. To see if your waste material might work in our process, please contact us.
